Change your life with the support of the state – learn for free thanks to the project Skills for the labour market
Did you know that as a unemployed or employed citizen in Slovakia you have the opportunity to take online retraining courses absolutely free? Thanks to the new national project Skills for the labour market, which is funded by ESF+ funds under the Slovakia 2021-2027 Programme, you can gain access to quality education without having to pay anything out of your own pocket.
If you are looking for suitable education, Data Swans Academy offers accredited online courses that are classified as supported. In practice, this means that the Jobcentre Plus can reimburse you for up to €1,200 once your application is approved
💻 Who are the free courses for?
According to the project rules, the following are eligible:
✅ Unemployed, registered at the Office of Employment and Social Development
✅ Employed, who want to increase their qualification or change their profession
✅ Applicants who want to apply for a job in the digital, green and development sectors
✅ Employees who will be encouraged by their employer to pursue self-learning (courses can also take place outside working hours)
Priority is also given to disadvantaged applicants:
- young people under 26 and people over 50
- long-term unemployed
- self-employed
- persons with disabilities
- people with less than secondary education

All our courses are accredited, i.e. eligible for reimbursement by the Labour Office, meet the requirements of Section 54 of the Employment Services Act and are delivered distance (online) – from the comfort of your home, with tutor support and access for up to 12 months.
📝 How to get a free course
- Register as a jobseeker or jobseeker with the Employment Service (specific forms are attached below).
- Choose a course from our range and contact us – we will help you with the administration.
- We will work together to prepare the Learning Requirement (Part A).
- We, as the provider, will prepare Education Provision (Part B).
- Both parts are to be submitted to the Job Center (in person, by mail, or electronically).
- Once approved, you can start the course – for free, with no hidden fees.
- After completion you will receive certificate and certificate + documents for the Office of Employment and Social Security.

For the unemployed (jobseekers)

If you want to claim online course reimbursement, there are new official forms available. They are divided according to whether you are unemployed or employed (jobseeker).
For unemployed and unemployable young people- Application for a grant to support the retraining of a jobseeker
- Retraining provider’s confirmation of provision of retraining
For the employed (job seekers)
- Application for Jobseeker’s Allowance for Education
- Education provider’s confirmation of training provision
